LENT

I want to know Christ—yes, to know the power of his resurrection and participation in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death, and so, somehow, attaining to the resurrection from the dead.

- Phil 3:10-11

Info

Lent

Lent is a season of 40 days, excluding Sundays, which begins with Ash Wednesday and ends on Holy Saturday.  Lent is the time to clean house physically, mentally, and emotionally--and God is waiting to help with the housekeeping.  Remember: we are all dust, and to dust we shall return.  Lent is a period of penance for all Christians, although this penitential spirit should be tempered with the joyful expectation of the Resurrection as we prepare to celebrate Easter.

Message from Pope

“We implore you on behalf of Christ,

be reconciled to God” (2 Cor 5:20)
